There was no connection, between the board and the computer, so it could be carried and used separately (in that case, the computer comfortably entered a pocket). It was sold with an external board that had a side compartment in which it snapped. The Scisys Rapier (1984) was one of those computers, but with one peculiarity: its small size of just 7.5x8.5 cm. In just a few years, since its separation from Novag (1979), Scisys had established itself as the world's leading manufacturer of chess computers, developing more than 50 different models in the period from the time it began manufacturing solo (1980), until it claimed its manufacture in its subsidiary "Saitek" in 1986 (that year it went on to sell more than 100,000 units).
